Former Archbishop of York's message about Her Majesty The Queen
Christian Aid's chair and former Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, shared these words after the sad news of Her Majesty The Queen’s passing:
“On behalf of the charity, its supporters and churches, I offer our prayers for Queen Elizabeth and the whole Royal Family at this difficult time.
“She dedicated her life to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. We will always be grateful for her truly remarkable service.
“She leaves behind a powerful legacy, not least in championing friendship between people of all faiths and none and the diverse peoples of the world. She always promoted development of the person, communities, structures and social wellbeing.
“For those who share a Christian faith, her own deep faith has been an inspiration - demonstrated throughout her life in her words and actions.
