Church Donation to Ayrshire Cancer Support
Supporters of ACS have been busy fundraising to purchase a new facility and have finally secured a property in Ayr, the former St Andrew's Hotel on Prestwick Road. Plans are now being drawn up to create areas for children and young people for play therapy, support groups,complementary therapy courses and counselling rooms to enhance mental wellbeing for all ages. Free transport to hospital appointments as well as a friendly drop in centre and hub to meet the nurse manager and staff.
To turn this vision into reality, the Kirk session has met and unanimously agreed to support this worthy cause. A proposal that we sponsor a room under the name of Janie Limond whose legacy to the church has enabled us to give a generous donation towards possibly the children's quiet room.
A plaque reading 'Janie Limond (St Leonard's Parish Church)' would be placed on the wall for founders plaques. If anyone wishes to make a personal donation, the Minister or David Murdoch, Session Clerk would be happy to forward it on.
